A bit about the route: Beautiful paved roads up through the mountains. Turns to gravel with miles of gravel and jeep-type roads. You will be turned around by forest service gates, but can still get back pretty far on unmarked roads. I haven't explored super deep here, so not sure how far back some roads go. Street bikes can still have great riding up in this area, especially those coming for a short day trip from the PDX area. Dual Sport and Adventure rides will have the fuller experience of the area. Many of the gravel roads are well maintained, so most street bikes could explore here. Cell service runs out, but it's hard to get lost as most roads here have no outlets, so you will be turned around to the main road.
The old Mountaindale store is located at the intersection of Dairy Creek Rd. and Mountaindale Rd.
If coming from PDX, consider linking this route with West Union / Cornelius Pass / Skyline / Germantown. Will make for a really nice day trip out and back.
